Where did we come from?

Music & More Inc. was incorporated in June of 2007 and opened its doors for business as a retail store in October.  Principals Paul Dobroth and Brian Moritz, along with their wives Christine and Nancy, decided to bring a unique business to the Tri-county area of LaSalle, Kendall and Grundy counties.

Paul and Brian met while they were members of the  Mid- ‘80’s  Chicago-area progressive rock band “Signs,” and have played together on and off in various bands and recording projects ever since, most recently as 2/3 of the local band Tripolar. Paul, who acts as store manager, has over 20 years experience in business and retail management, as well as over 25 yrs as a part time working musician. Brian, who also teaches at the store, started in the retail music business managing a store called Source One Music Ltd., and later store worked for DJ’s Music, Guitar Center, Rock Warehouse, PM Music, Guitar Shack and Guitar Plus.  Brian has designed and installed PA systems for his own sound company, and has built several recording studios, including a 4300sf facility with living quarters with Paul’s assistance.

When you go to the box retailers, you’re dealing mostly with minimum wage employees whose experience and advice is often very questionable. Between Paul and Brian, there is 70 years of hands-on and real world musical experience. Paul, having worked for years in retail sales, understands what operating a business in small communities is all about. In a word – Trust. Paul and Brian research the inventory carefully so you will not get taken advantage of when buying products from Music & More. We self-warranty the products in the sense of standing behind what we sell. This may occasionally cost us money, but we’d rather have happy customers than disgruntled former customers.
